Tyrannus School of Theology

"But when some where becoming hardened and disobedient, speaking evil of the Way before the multitude, he withdrew from them and took away the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus." (Acts 19:9)

During the apostle Paul's extended ministry in Ephesus, he devoted a good measure of his time to teaching theology in the school of Tyrannus . We do not know whether Tyrannus was the name of the school or its owner, but we do know that Paul used this location to train believers in the teachings of the Scripture in order to impact the world for Christ. Later, Paul was able to say that "all of Asia has heard the Gospel" (Acts 19:10). No doubt, his ministry at the school of Tyrannus played a major role in that.

The Tyrannus School of Theology is a ministry of the Church of the Open Door in Leavenworth, KS , partnering with The Bible Training Centre for Pastors (www.bibletraining.com). TST has been founded to meet the need for advanced theological education of those who are unable to attend Bible college or seminary. The purpose is to equip men and women for the work of the ministry (Eph. 4:11-16).

TST Classes will meet evenings at the Church of the Open Door. Each course includes 2 textbooks that students must purchase (a Zondervan Study Bible is also recommended). See the church secretary for details.

Participants will be required to complete assigned readings prior to the each class period. Classroom time will involve lectures and discussion.
