Church of the Open Door

Discipleship Program for the Development

of Spiritual Leaders

Purpose:  Spiritual Leaders are a key element to God's plan for the perfecting of His people-the Church. Therefore, as a church, we want to be purposeful in discipling and equipping men and women for these tasks.  Leaders are not born but formed. To that end we have created a Discipleship Program for the Development of Spiritual Leaders.

This program is designed for men and women who have demonstrated some level of leadership or ministry responsibility, and are currently engaged in ministry.

The training will consist of self-study, on-the-job training, classroom work, some practicum, and mentoring.

Who:   Men and women who are already members of COTOD, and who have demonstrated some level of leadership or ministry responsibility, and are engaged in some ministry of COTOD.

What:  A voluntary training program consisting of self-study, on-the-job training, classroom work, some practicum, and mentoring.

When:  Training Sessions will ordinarily be as follows:

Bible Session Wednesday nights from 6:30pm - 8:00pm

Practical Ministry Training - Sunday morning from 9:30am - 10:30am

Duration: Program will last about one academic year (about 35 weeks), beginning in September.

Where: Pastor’s Office, COTOD

Why:    We need qualified spiritual and ministry leaders for elder, deacon, and various ministries of the church. We must develop them ourselves.
